soil Biodiversity Ecosystem Functioning: Using protists as a model

It remains unknown whether a higher soil diversity will affect ecosystem functions such as plant performance or nutrient cycling. It also remains unknown how global change drivers such as temperature or drought,  either alone or in combination, affect this relationship. We address these research questions by manipulating soil protist diversity levels and examining the effect of increasing diversity on plant performance and nutrient cycling.
